This study aims to identify the factors that cause university students to become addicted to alcoholic beverages and the impact on their academic activities. The research employs a qualitative approach using a case study method. Data collection techniques include observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. Informants were selected purposively, consisting of active university students living in the Sumur Dewa Sub-district, Selebar District, Bengkulu City. The results show that the causes of alcohol addiction among students include social environment influence, peer pressure, mental health issues, and a permissive culture toward alcohol consumption. This addiction has negative impacts on health, learning motivation, social relationships, and academic achievement. The analysis utilizes Emile Durkheim's theory of social facts and Max Weber's theory of social action. This research recommends a collaborative approach involving families, educational institutions, and the community to prevent and address alcohol addiction among students.
